I got the Kindle 3 wifi+3g model. I bought a book for it already, Mercurial: The Definitive Guide, but only because all profits go to Software Freedom Conservancy. I have to say, reading books that are properly converted to the Kindle's native format is much more pleasant than straight PDFs, when those PDFs are formatted in a standard hardback profile. (As is always the case, converting a PDF to Amazon's format is generally less than ideal). The Mercurial book is getting mildly stale at this point, too, given standard opensource project velocity. At least LWN's weekly edition in bigpage format looks OK when converted, that's pretty nice. I might even subscribe to the Washington Post.
